The award-winning hit PC game, Don't Starve has moved to mobile and is proving just as big a success on Android and iOS.
Indeed, both Google Play and Apple's App Store have made the game official Editors' Choice, so that's a big hats off due to Klei Entertainment.
If you've never encountered Don't Starve before, the premise may seem a little thin, but stick with it. Unfortunately, first impressions aren't always correct.

More
Don't Starve is an oddball of a mobile game. It's probably like nothing you are used to, which is part of the enormous appeal.
Graphically, it has a mildly sinister and retro-look monochrome look. While the characters and various critters are 2D, they weirdly occupy a 3D world. Who thought that one up?
However, don't let a subjective review put you off trying this game out. It's different, and you're just as likely to love it as loathe it. Apart from the usual post-upgrade bug moans, the vast majority of reviewers are pretty hooked on Don't Starve. And it's easy to see why. The game has its own unique charm; it's different, dark, and strangely compelling. So if you need a change in your gaming, this is the one to check out.
You, as the player, are Wilson, an intrepid scientist gentleman. He has been captured by a demon and transported to a strange and mysterious wilderness. You arrive with literally the clothes on your back. You have no idea about this new world in which you find yourself.
Pretty quickly, you must figure out how this new world works, how to use the environment, and enlist the help of its inhabitants to get back home.
What you discover is a strange world packed with weird creatures, dangers, and full of surprise. The objective is to gather and craft the resources you need to unravel all the mysteries of this weird world.

Don't Starve is downloadable from Google Play and Apple's App Store. As well as being an Editors' Choice on both platforms, the game scores a respectable 4.2 and 4.5 out of five on Google Play and the App Store, respectively.
Android users will need 479 MB of storage space and run Android 5.0 or later.
Meanwhile, iOS users will need to part with a hefty 1.3 GB of storage space and run iOS 13.0 or later.
However, you should note the game is suitable for all ages. Google Play ranks the game as 7+ due to mild violence. The App Store takes a stricter view pitching the game as suitable for ages 9+ due to fantasy violence and crude humor.
