Who hasn't wished to leave the city behind and head for the countryside at some point in their life?
It's an appealing dream, for sure. But not always immediately feasible for most folks. Plus, there are no Starbucks and lots of unfamiliar smells, sights, and silence.
However, you can have it all thanks to the mobile version of the wildly popular role-playing game Stardew Valley. This rpg lets you reinvent yourself in the rolling countryside without leaving home. This is much less hassle than selling up and trying to make a success of that farm you have always dreamt about.

More
The game plot revolves around the player having inherited their grandfather's old farm down in Stardew Valley. Now is the time to escape to the country.
But it's not that simple. You only have a selection of old tools left to you by gramps and a few coins to start your new life. This isn't going to be as simple as you may have imagined.
After fixing your fields, you then raise and breed an assortment of animals, grow a selection of seasonal crops, and redesign the farm your way.
However, it's not all back-breaking farm work. There is plenty of scope to take some well-earned downtime to go fishing, exploring, and participating in various community events.
There are more than 50 hours of gameplay in this mobile game, so you won't run out of things to do in a hurry. And there are also new mobile-only features, including auto-save and control options.
Updates
In January 2021, the game underwent a radical overhaul that saw new end-game content added and new crops and pets.
The update also added new single-player content, including town improvements, dating events, fishing ponds, clothing, and more.
For Android players, the update rebuilt the game for touch-screen gaming. It also introduced auto-select to switch between your farming tools and auto-attack to take out the nasty mine-dwelling monsters.
